The derby between FC Eindhoven and Helmond Sport was completed on Friday evening after three strikes. Helmond Sport won the crazy match 1-2.
The first interruption was after 12 minutes, after a torch was thrown onto the field from the away section. Then a supporter from the same section threw a cup onto the field. That was after celebrating the 1-2. According to the stadium speaker, it was the last warning. Just before the end, the game was briefly stopped again, because several cups were aimed at the field by an Eindhoven fan. The game resumed with a few minutes left on the clock.
More often
It is certainly not the first time that there are drinks in the stadium during confrontations between FC Eindhoven and Helmond Sport. Two years earlier, eleven supporters were arrested after throwing a chair at a police officer. Last year, the police sounded the alarm because the riot police had to be deployed no fewer than 19 times during the 73 home games of East Brabant clubs.
