FC Eindhoven eliminates Willem II in KNVB cup

Willem II can fully concentrate on the goal of returning to the Eredivisie for the rest of the season after a year. The team of coach Kevin Hofland was eliminated in the first round of the KNVB Cup on Tuesday. FC Eindhoven was too strong 1-0 in its own Jan Louwers Stadium.

Ozan Kökcü, brother of Feyenoord captain Orkun Kökcü, scored the only goal after 1 minute and 17 seconds. FC Eindhoven had the best chances after the quick opening goal. But Willem II goalkeeper Joshua Smits prevented Jasper Dahlhau and Charles-Andreas Brym from scoring for the home team.

FC Eindhoven is third in the Kitchen Champion Division after eleven rounds. Willem II is the current number 6 in the ranking.
