FC Den Bosch started the play-offs with a 1-0 win over SC Cambuur. In an almost sold -out stadium De Vliert, striker Konstantinos Doumtsios made the only goal of the game on Monday evening. And so the Bosschenaren took the first step towards Eredivisie, because that is what the Bossche supporters want so much.
Twenty years ago, FC Den Bosch played in the Eredivisie for the last time. In recent years, the club has been going dramatically, but this season the first period title was actually taken. FC Den Bosch then dropped to ninth place, but there is still trust within the club in a stunt in the play-offs. Certainly because there were more often surprises in recent years.
Eredivisie
The first half played FC Den Bosch as the own supporters would like. There was a fight for every ball and the attack was frequently sought. After twenty minutes, the opening goal from Doumtsios followed, which after a corner from Byron Burgering came in from the turn. From the M-Side with the fanatic supporters, ‘We Are Going Up’ was sung loudly, with which they go on a promotion to the Eredivisie.
Cambuur was disappointing. The number three of the Kitchen Champion Division got a big chance in the 42nd minute. Midfielder Nicky Souren appeared freely for Pepijn van de Merbel, but the Bossche goalkeeper brought salvation. In the last minutes of the first half, both teams still had a big chance, but the 1-0 remained on the scoreboard.

It really went wild in the last twenty minutes. First it was the Bossche substitute Denzel Kuijpers who appeared free for the goal, but he did not get the ball at the last minute. Shortly thereafter another substitute, Sheddy Barglan, shot on the Frisian keeper Thijs Jansen. Then it was Wiebe Kooistra with two big chances for Cambuur. Van de Merbel showed himself a reliable goalie: he kept his goal clean.
The last minutes were no longer of good football and the Bosschenaren crossed the line with a lot of battle.
The return will take place next Friday, May 16 at 8 p.m. in Leeuwarden. The winner of the diptych will play against the winner of Telstar and ADO The Hague on 20 and 23 May. The final is on 29 May and 1 June.
