2. Term of office ends after more than 3 years
Coach Siniša Mihajlović’s second term at FC Bologna is over. On Tuesday evening, the Serie A club confirmed the separation from the 53-year-old, who had already managed Rossoblu from 2008 to 2009. In January 2019, the Serb took over from Filippo Inzaghi and led to mid-table four times. After five games without a win at the start of the new season, a new impetus should now be given.
“It was the most difficult decision I’ve made since I’ve been President of Bologna. In recent years we have experienced beautiful and painful moments with Sinisa, which have strengthened not only a professional but above all a human relationship,” said President Joey Saputo, alluding to the coach’s leukemia disease. “But even though Sinisa Mihajlovic will no longer be the coach of Bologna from today, this club and all the people who make him up will always be by his side until his full and full recovery and as his career progresses.”
