FC Bayern is also said to be looking into signing striker Serhou Guirassy from VfB Stuttgart. Sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth remains calm despite the ongoing rumors.
“We are prepared for all eventualities,” said the 44-year-old on Tuesday on the sidelines of the Swabians’ training start about possible changes in the transfer period that is now underway.
When it comes to Guirassy, there is “nothing new since the last Bundesliga matchday” and “no new status,” emphasized Wohlgemuth. VfB Stuttgart is “prepared for anything. We can’t do more than that.”
With 19 goals in 16 competitive games in 2023/2024, Guirassy made his way onto the shopping lists of numerous top clubs.
What also makes the 27-year-old attractive to interested parties is his contract situation at VfB Stuttgart: his contract, which runs until June 30, 2026, is said to contain an exit clause that also applies in the winter. This enables Guirassy to make a move for the comparatively manageable transfer fee of 17.5 million euros.
“Sport Bild” reported on FC Bayern’s interest in the VfB top performer. However, the Munich mind games only refer to the coming summer.
VfB Stuttgart: Serhou Guirassy to FC Bayern in the summer?
Other clubs, such as Manchester United, Newcastle United and West Ham United from the English Premier League as well as AC Milan from Italy’s Serie A, are said to be looking into a winter change.
If the sought-after professional decides to stay at VfB Stuttgart in January, FC Bayern could throw his hat into the ring after the season, according to the report. Guirassy’s fixed transfer fee should then amount to 20 million euros.
CEO Alexander Wehrle recently stated that he saw no signs of Guirassy leaving VfB Stuttgart early.
Guirassy was missing from training on Tuesday, which was watched by around 800 spectators. The Guinea striker has been nominated for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
