FC Bayern: Zinédine Zidane was already on the FCB grounds

After the decision to separate from Thomas Tuchel, FC Bayern is looking for a new coach. One of the most prominent candidates is certainly the Frenchman Zinédine Zidane, who has been able to get an idea of the conditions in Munich in the past.

Just a few days ago, the “Bild” podcast “Bayern Insider” revealed that Zidane is not entirely averse to a possible engagement with the German record champions.

The 51-year-old is said to have looked into FC Bayern and even asked some French compatriots how the club works. Zidane is “torn” as to whether a collaboration would be an option for him in the near future.

Of course, the Bundesliga club’s premises on Säbener Strasse would not be completely new for the former world-class player: around nine years ago, Zidane visited the training pitches and premises as part of a coaching course run by the French Football Association.

At the time he said: “It’s my first time here. I’ve been in the city a few times, but it’s my first time in this fantastic training center. It’s not quite as big as other European clubs, but it’s very familiar .”

His verdict was “magnifique,” which means “beautiful” in German. His previously positive impressions were more than confirmed. “It’s a super organized club with football experts,” enthused Zidane.

Zidane raved about FC Bayern’s “philosophy”.

For Zidane, FC Bayern was already “a big club that is one of the top five in the world.” At the same time, everything there “remained very familiar” and he was therefore “very impressed”.

As a trainer for Real Madrid’s second team, he felt a “lust for football” in Munich, which was also based on a “very precise philosophy” of the club.

Zidane later enjoyed great success as Los Blancos’ head coach, including winning the Champions League three times. He has been without a club since his departure in the summer of 2021.
