FC Bayern | Youngster after win against BVB: “Crazy!”

Aleksandar Pavlovic is a native of Munich and is therefore a true native of the German football champions. He has been playing for FC Bayern since he was a child and is currently celebrating his big breakthrough in the Bundesliga.

The 19-year-old made headlines in FC Bayern’s 8-0 win over Darmstadt 98 last week when he came on as a substitute in the 77th minute, making his debut in the German top flight.

Things got even better for the teenager in Dortmund: Substituted for Dayot Upamecano in the 60th minute of the game, he showed a very committed performance in Munich’s central defensive midfield and even contributed his first scorer point in professional football. Harry Kane’s 4-0 was preceded by a pass from Pavlovic. Previously, he had strongly anticipated and intercepted a pass attempt from Dortmund’s Niklas Süle.

“Coming on as a substitute in this close game and being on the pitch for so long was crazy. I would like to thank Thomas Tuchel and his coaching team for their trust. The fact that I was able to provide an assist at the end makes me very happy happy,” Pavlovic was quoted as saying on the record champions’ club website after his first win in the Bundesliga classic.

The German-Serb has now enjoyed his role in Bayern’s professional squad and wants to continue offering himself in the coming weeks: “Now it’s time for me to keep at it and be ready with the right performance when I get the next opportunity.”

Big praise from Thomas Müller

Just last week, Pavlovic, who had previously played for FC Bayern II in the regional league, signed his first professional contract at Säbener Straße until 2027. Establishing himself firmly as a Bundesliga player is his primary goal for the club next months.

After the victory over BVB, there was special praise from teammate and Bayern veteran Thomas Müller, who was delighted: “Aleks is a great boy, I like his style of play. He plays football the way I know it, he has guts in his bones .”
