After the separation from Hasan Salihamidzic, FC Bayern is looking for a new sports director. Max Eberl from RB Leipzig is said to be a candidate. However, a commitment turns out to be a difficult undertaking.
As “Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg reports, RB Leipzig would “demand an incredibly high transfer fee” for Eberl. After all, the 49-year-old only joined the Saxons as sporting director last December. In addition, Eberl still has a long-term contract until 2026.
The TV broadcaster therefore considers it rather unlikely that the former manager of Borussia Mönchengladbach will move on to FC Bayern in the summer.
Nevertheless, there is said to have been a conversation between the club officials and the official last week.
What’s going on between FC Bayern and Krösche?
Another candidate currently associated with FC Bayern is Markus Krösche from Eintracht Frankfurt.
According to Plettenberg, the 42-year-old would not be averse to listening to an offer from the German record champions at least once. Krösche is tied to Eintracht Frankfurt until 2025.
FC Bayern wants to take the necessary time to look for a new sports director. “It’s not that easy, but we’re working on it,” explained club president Herbert Hainer during the championship celebrations: “I have to say that the season was bumpy. Starting tomorrow we’ll look ahead.”
The Munich team officially parted ways with Salihamidzic last weekend. In addition to the squad planner, CEO Oliver Kahn also had to resign. The longtime finance boss Jan-Christian Dreesen follows the Titan on Säbener Straße.
“I’m glad that in Jan-Christian Dreesen we have someone who knows the store and has a good standing with the members and fans in particular,” Hainer commented on the decision.
