The basketball players from FC Bayern Munich have extended their small winning streak in the Euroleague. The Munich team won against Olimpia Milan 91:84 (76:76, 39:44) after extra time. For the Bundesliga club it was the sixth success in the twelfth game of the premier class. The best thrower was Carsen Edwards with 32 points.
The first quarter was even. None of the teams were able to pull away. After a small deficit, Bayern gained momentum and led at halftime. The hosts were particularly effective when it came to rebounding. The throwing rate could be improved at this point. Only a little more than half of the two-point shots ended up in the basket. From the outside, the accuracy was even less accurate.
Even after the break, the match remained close. Munich committed numerous turnovers in the final minutes of the third period, but was still able to take a narrow lead into the final quarter.
It started with the equalizer for Milan. Bayern were initially unimpressed by this. In the middle of the quarter the Italians pulled away a bit. Serge Ibaka forced overtime with his three-pointer a few seconds before the end. Bayern prevailed thanks to the outstanding Edwards, who scored eleven of the 15 points.
