FC Bayern waving new income

In January 2022, FC Bayern loaned defensive talent Bright Arrey-Mbi to 1. FC Köln until the summer of 2023. However, the hope that the 19-year-old could take the next step with the professionals in the cathedral city was not fulfilled. Instead, he was awarded to the second division club Hannover 96. Permanent residence is possible.

As Martin Kind revealed in “Sport Bild”, the Lower Saxony want to make use of the purchase option at Arrey-Mbi. “We want to keep him,” the 96 boss clarified.

According to the report, a transfer fee of 400,000 euros will be due. A sum that Hanover could afford. Arrey-Mbi’s contract at Bayern Munich runs until 2025.

Arrey-Mbi has played six times in all competitions for 96 this season. He played the full 90 minutes in the last five competitive games.

Arrey-Mbi moved from Chelsea FC youth team to Munich in 2019, where he made over 60 appearances for youngsters and made his professional debut in December 2020 as part of the Champions League. The loan to Cologne should give the career another boost, but ultimately turned out to be a step backwards. Arrey-Mbi only collected minutes for 1. FC Köln II.

Hannover remains within striking distance of promotion

Hannover 96 has collected 27 points after 16 games this season and is fourth in the second division table. The gap to leaders SV Darmstadt 98, who have only completed 15 duels, is just five points.

Hanover only celebrated the next victory on Tuesday evening. With the 2-0 win against Fortuna Düsseldorf, the hosts passed F95 and are now in the immediate vicinity of the relegation rank.

Hannover made everything clear in front of 24,100 spectators before the break. Havard Nielsen (34th) gave the team of 96 coach Stefan Leitl the lead with his seventh goal of the season. Two minutes before the break, Cedric Teuchert scored his sixth goal of the season.
