FC Bayern wants to part ways with technical director Marco Neppe

Something is still happening at the management level at FC Bayern. Max Eberl is almost there and is expected to sign a contract soon – but there is also movement on the tax side.

Marco Neppe has been FC Bayern’s technical director since 2021. Now the 37-year-old is said to be about to terminate his contract with the German record champions. This is what “Sport Bild” and the TV channel Sky report unanimously. This also coincides with t-online information, according to which an imminent separation from Neppe has been expected within the club for some time.

According to the TV station, there are already amicable discussions between both sides about ending his long-term working paper early. Neppe played a key role in transfer matters and was also at least involved in the moves of Harry Kane and Min-jae Kim. He also discovered young talents such as Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala.

Neppe was a confidant of former Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidžić and was allowed to stay at FC Bayern after his dismissal in May last year. Now the turning point follows.

As Sky further reports, he is said to have had less and less decision-making power over transfers this winter. Sports director Christoph Freund has taken over the task almost completely.

The separation from Neppe is accompanied by further personnel changes at the German record champions. Max Eberl is set to join FC Bayern as the new sports director in the spring. The supervisory board reportedly only needs to confirm the appointment (read more about this here).
