FC Bayern | Tuchel counterattack: Hamann “doesn’t feel attacked”

Things are getting really busy before the ninth Bundesliga matchday between ex-national player Dietmar Haman and FC Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel. After Hamann had told “Sky” against the Munich team’s style of play and thus indirectly against coach Tuchel, he made this statement on Friday at the matchday press conference before the Bundesliga home game against SV Darmstadt 98 (Saturday from 3:30 p.m.). Now Hamann spoke up again.

“Didi is getting a little out of hand at the moment, I have the feeling and on the other hand it is certainly not important enough for us to care about it, react to it or allow ourselves to be annoyed,” Tuchel said on Friday afternoon about Hamann’s statements had described FC Bayern’s game idea as too unstable and uncontrolled, among other things.

This Tuchel comment was followed almost immediately on Friday afternoon by Hamann’s return, who spoke out again to “Sky”.

“I don’t feel attacked. If I’m not important enough to him, that’s his opinion,” said the 50-year-old in a decidedly calm manner. Hamann even showed understanding for the Bayern coach’s statements: “It is the Bayern coach’s right to react to criticism. Maybe even his duty. If I were him, I would also stand in front of my team.”

Hamann can imagine Bayern going bankrupt against BVB

The 59-time German national player Hamann had previously found that the German record champions had been inferior in terms of play in their previous tough tests in the Bundesliga against Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig, even if they were ultimately able to win a point in both duels.

With a view to the matchday after next, he added: “It won’t work in the long run and maybe in ten days it won’t be enough in Dortmund.”
