When it comes to recruiting the desired player Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig, FC Bayern can probably not hope for a timely implementation.
According to information from “Bild”, Laimer’s contract with the Saxons, which runs until 2023, has an exit clause.
The transfer fee fixed there is 35 million euros and thus far above the actual market value of the 25-year-old Austrian, for whom FC Bayern is said to want to pay less than 20 million euros.
According to the report, the clause only expires on June 30th. After that, Laimer’s fee is freely negotiable and the German record champions could try to push through their ideas in negotiations with the RB management floor.
FC Bayern Konrad Laimer’s dream destination?
Before that, the people of Leipzig should not be willing to give Laimer a price reduction, especially since several financially strong clubs from the English Premier League are also said to be dealing with the 2021/2022 midfield sweeper, who will be in extremely good form.
According to “Bild”, however, it is unlikely that a club will pull the 35 million clause. In addition, Laimer himself has long since chosen FC Bayern as his dream destination. From the beginning of July it could be hot in this personality.
In Munich, Laimer would work again with coach Julian Nagelsmann, who also coached him in Leipzig between 2019 and 2021.
RB Leipzig is fighting for Konrad Laimer
Meanwhile, RB has not yet given up the fight for the top performer. Initial talks and a loose offer to extend the contract are said not to have convinced Laimer.
If the fourth-placed Bundesliga player from the past Bundesliga season still wants to make money with him, a transfer status would have to take place this summer.
RB Leipzig signed Laimer from sister club Red Bull Salzburg in 2017. A transfer fee of seven million euros was paid at the time.
