On the one hand, the fact that only the role of Leverkusen’s first pursuer remains is of course annoying for the industry leader from Munich. It doesn’t fit with FC Bayern’s self-image over the last eleven years that the place in the Bundesliga sun is not occupied by them.
On the other hand, the people of Munich are also drawing positives from the current constellation. According to a “kicker” report, there is great internal hope that the strong competition from Leverkusen will “drive their own team to peak performance”.

Logically, this applies primarily to the Bundesliga, but possibly also to the Champions League. In recent years, FC Bayern have often not been at their peak performance when the decisive knockout games have come up in the premier class. If the lead in the Bundesliga table was already too big in the spring weeks, Bayern lacked the final consequence, even at European level.
