Former national player Dietmar Hamann expects an aftermath for FC Bayern after the mistake made in the away game against SC Freiburg (4:1).
“It’s a violation of the rules. If someone goes onto the field, someone has to go down. It doesn’t matter whether it’s 20 seconds or five minutes. As we’ve heard, Freiburg informed the referee about the situation,” said Hamann “Sky”. “We don’t know what the arrangement with the fourth official was that a player ran onto the field more. The referee couldn’t do anything else, he had to let the game continue.”
Hamann added: “The DFB sports court has to decide the rest. It has to be punished and that’s out of the question for me.”
FC Bayern for a few seconds with twelve men
In Freiburg, after Niklas Süle and Marcel Sabitzer came on in the 86th minute, only Corentin Tolisso left the field. FC Bayern was thus on the field for a few seconds with twelve men.
Referee Christian Dingert then interrupted the game. After minutes of discussion, he continued with a dropped ball.
Coach Julian Nagelsmann spoke of a “” bizarre situation. Coco Tolisso ran in because he had stomach problems,” said the 34-year-old: “Then the fourth official gave the wrong number. King (Editor’s note: Coman) didn’t know he had to go down. It was two crossballs. It wasn’t game-changing.”
That’s what Christian Streich says about FC Bayern’s change mistakes
Dingert also spoke of a “confused situation. A wrong number was displayed, that’s why the player Coman didn’t feel addressed,” explained the referee: “That’s why there were twelve players on the field for a short time, which of course shouldn’t be. He had it Incident “noted in the game report”, now “the DFB has to decide”.
In order for there to be any consequences for FC Bayern, Freiburg would first have to lodge a protest.
“I don’t understand how to lodge this objection,” said coach Christian Streich: “I firmly assume that we shouldn’t and don’t have to lodge an objection. I firmly assume that there are rules. Otherwise speculation is wide open open. In my understanding of jurisdiction, there is a set of rules.”
