Joshua Zirkzee is apparently planning a return to Belgium. As “Het Laatste Nieuws” reports, there are increasing signs that the 21-year-old FC Bayern attacker will play for RSC Anderlecht again. Zirkzee’s move there is likely, negotiations between Munich and the Jupiler Pro League club are ongoing, it is said.
The Dutchman joined Anderlecht on loan in August 2021 and managed 18 goals and 13 assists in 47 games. For a long time it looked as if the RSC would not be able to finance a further commitment from Zirkzee. At the end of May, the offensive man, who, despite the departure of Robert Lewandowski (33) to Barcelona, is unlikely to receive much playing time at Bayern in the future, did not want to “raise any false hopes” among the fans of his temporary employer.
RSC Anderlecht can now afford to buy Zirkzee because left-back Sergio Gómez (21) was recently transferred to Manchester City for a fixed 13 to 15 million euros – media reports on the transfer vary. According to reports, FC Bayern is now demanding more than 10 million euros. Should a transfer of this magnitude come about, the income of the German record champions would increase to 106 million euros this summer. 64 million euros would have flowed for supplementary players or reserves alone.
RSC Anderlecht got Esposito and Silva – and still want Zirkzee
Anderlecht recently hired strikers Sebastiano Esposito (from Inter) and Fábio Silva (from Wolverhampton) on loan, but this should by no means stand in the way of Zirkzee signing. According to the report, the Belgians never lost sight of the Bayern professional. Zirkzee is aware that he can take the next step up the career ladder at RSC and that he needs several good seasons in a row.

Other interested parties from the Bundesliga include Borussia Mönchengladbach, VfB Stuttgart and FC Augsburg. According to the “Kicker”, the chances of staying in Germany are poor because the competitors for Newcastle, Bruges and Anderlecht are more solvent. Zirkzee is under contract in Munich until 2023.
