Munich (AP) – FC Bayern Munich is fighting with returnees Manuel Neuer and Leroy Sané against Red Bull Salzburg for a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Soccer goalkeeper Neuer celebrates his comeback just a month after an operation on his right knee. Winger Sané had only been used as a substitute in the past two league games.

Compared to the 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend, Lucas Hernández is back in the Munich starting XI. The world champion was suspended against Leverkusen and replaces his French compatriot Dayot Upamecano in defence. After the 1-1 draw in the round of 16 first leg in Salzburg, coach Julian Nagelsmann is fully on the offensive.

Salzburg’s hope is called Adeyemi

Salzburg rely on Karim Adeyemi, who was born in Munich, on the offensive. In addition to the German national player, Junior Adamu, who scored in the first leg for the Austrian champions, storms. RB coach Matthias Jaissle can call on the recently injured Oumar Solet in defence, who defended excellently against Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski in the first leg.
