FC Bayern signs new signing with BVB experience

Now it’s official: René Marić will be the new “team leader for coaching development and game ideas” at FC Bayern. The 31-year-old is no stranger to the Bundesliga, having worked in the past as Marco Rose’s assistant at Borussia Mönchengladbach and BVB.

FC Bayern has signed René Marić. In the future, the new addition will work at the German record champions’ campus as “Team Leader Coach Development & Game Ideas”. The position was newly created in Munich.

“We are very pleased to have signed René Marić for the new position as team leader for coaching development and game ideas at our FC Bayern Campus,” sports director Christoph Freund was quoted as saying in an official club statement.

“René drew attention to his abilities early on with his work in Salzburg and was able to develop further in the Bundesliga with Dortmund and Mönchengladbach as well as in the Premier League with Leeds United. He will provide new and important impetus for us,” the Austrian continued.

René Marić worked at Gladbach and BVB

The friend knows Marić from their time together at RB Salzburg. The 31-year-old worked in the city of Mozart, initially as an assistant with the U18s and later with the professionals. His superior at the time: Marco Rose. It was he who later took Marić with him to Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund. Marić most recently served as an assistant coach at Leeds United, where he was employed until last February.

Now he is starting a new challenge at FC Bayern. Marić has an old acquaintance, Freund, as a direct contact. The commitment had already become apparent in the past few hours, and now the ink on the employment contract is dry. The Bundesliga runner-up did not provide any information about the term of the contract.
