FC Bayern | Septet around Joshua Kimmich on the brink: These stars are playing for their future!

FC Bayern has already secured two new signings for the coming season, and in return some professionals could leave the record champions in the summer. These seven stars are playing for their future in Munich in the second half of the season:

  • Matthijs de Ligt (24, defense, contract until 2027)

The Dutchman was worth 67 million euros to FC Bayern in the summer of 2022. However, due to numerous injuries, de Ligt has not yet become the defensive boss he hoped for.

Since position competitor Min-jae Kim is at the Asian Cup in January, he has a new chance to be in the starting line-up. If he leaves it unused, dissatisfaction could grow on both sides – separation cannot be ruled out.

  • Alphonso Davies (23, defense, contract until 2025)

Rumors have been circulating for months about the Canadian’s move to Real Madrid. At the same time, his performance became increasingly weaker, and Davies is said to have not developed as desired off the pitch.

The fact is: the wing car’s working paper expires in 2025, so you won’t be able to cash in on it for too long. The record champions would like to extend, but poker is stalling. Davies now has to prove that he is still fully focused on FC Bayern.

  • Noussair Mazraoui (26, defense, contract until 2026)

Due to the lack of competition, the Moroccan has played a better role so far than in his debut season. However, his performances so far have been uninspiring. Mazraoui is a follower – no less, but no more either.

The right-back missed the start of the second half of the season due to his participation in the Africa Cup. It is quite possible that a new competitor will be part of the squad by the time he returns. Prediction: If Mazraoui loses his regular place, his time in Munich could end in the summer.

  • Frans Krätzig (20, defense, contract until 2027)

High-flying starter in the first half of the season, but still far from being a regular player. If a new left-back comes soon, a loan for Krätzig is up for debate, according to “Sport Bild”.

In the medium to long term, FC Bayern is relying on the talent, who only signed his first professional contract in the fall. For the time being, however, the focus is on regular match practice – ideally in Munich, but perhaps also elsewhere.

  • Joshua Kimmich (28, midfield, contract until 2025)

No other player is discussed more hotly around FC Bayern. Coach Thomas Tuchel is certainly partly to blame for this, keyword “Holding Six”. But Kimmich also provided some fuel with extremely changeable performances.

The all-rounder, who many experts would prefer to see at the back, has been tied to the club for a year and a half. The first interested parties are already positioning themselves. In the second series, Kimmich should be more influential again, otherwise the air will be thin for him.

  • Serge Gnabry (28, attack, contract until 2026)

His status has fallen massively since then. A constant fixture for years, he is now only a supporting player, mainly due to injuries. Significant: After eleven competitive games, Gnabry has a measly goal.

Without advertising on his own behalf in the coming weeks, the offensive man probably no longer has any significant prospects at FC Bayern – especially since a potential successor has already been signed in summer signing Bryan Zaragoza.

  • Mathys Tel (18, attack, contract until 2027)

Unlike most other shaky candidates, the youngster’s athletic ability is beyond any doubt. Especially at the start of the season, the Frenchman proved that he could help the team as a “super joker” (Tel quote).

Only: The U21 national player won’t be able to get past goal guarantor Harry Kane any time soon. A frustrating situation for Tel, who absolutely has to keep the tension high in the second half of the season. If he doesn’t succeed, a loan in the summer cannot be ruled out.
