A lot has happened at FC Bayern in terms of personnel over the past few days. In Robert Lewandowski, the record champions lost their world-class goalscorer, but gained a new top defender in Matthijs de Ligt. In the opinion of ex-national player Sami Khedira, Munich are prepared for the upcoming tasks.
Although he never played for FC Bayern or BVB in the Bundesliga, Sami Khedira keeps a close eye on the top clubs in the Bundesliga. Of course, the most recent transfer activities of the two ambitious Champions League participants have not gone unnoticed by the 2014 World Champion.
“Bayern have sensationally good new signings, even if Lewandowski’s departure hurts,” emphasized Khedira in an interview with “Sport Bild”.
In addition, Borussia Dortmund “bought a lot and well, found a good mix of experienced and young players who could develop, but who still need some time.”
That’s why FC Bayern is still the favorite for the championship, says Khedira, who sees BVB and RB Leipzig “close”.
FC Bayern: Mané will “bring fun to the Bundesliga”
The native of Stuttgart, who ended his active career in 2021, has high expectations of Bayern’s star newcomer Sadio Mané.
The Senegalese had “already proved in Liverpool that he can also play centrally,” explained Khedira, who sang a song of praise for the attacker: “He’s an incredibly fast player, can find solutions in tight spaces, looks for the goal and has a top Attitude.”
The fact that Mané is not a classic center forward should not be a problem when looking for a successor for goalgetter Lewandowski.
“He’s a different type of player than Lewandowski and will still bring fun and great added value to the Bundesliga,” predicted Khedira.
