With the departure of Robert Lewandowski, youngster Joshua Zirkzee’s chances of more playing time at FC Bayern have increased, at least on paper. Nevertheless, the Dutchman could soon appear in a different shirt. A recently traded successor candidate does not seem to be a hot topic in Munich.
After Robert Lewandowski, will FC Bayern also let Joshua Zirkzee go? According to information from the usually well-informed transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the German record champions are prepared to sell the young attacker in the current changeover period.
After a successful guest performance in Anderlecht, Zirkzee returned to Säbener Straße with renewed self-confidence. So far, however, those responsible in Munich have failed to make a clear commitment to the striker.
Although Zirkzee and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting are now only two nominal nines in the squad, FC Bayern should be open to offers at the Oranje-Juwel. However, potential buyers would have to put at least ten million euros on the table.
A trail seems to lead to Italy, where FC Bologna is said to have a concrete interest. According to reports, Zirkzee would be quite ready for a second attempt in Serie A, which he already knows from his time at FC Parma. His contract in Munich expires in 2023.
No offer from FC Bayern for Osimhen
It is still unclear whether FC Bayern will add personnel to the center forward position. A name that recently made the rounds in this context was Victor Osimhen from top Italian club SSC Napoli. The 23-year-old Nigerian knows the Bundesliga from his time at VfL Wolfsburg.
However, SSC sports director Cristiano Giuntoli has now invalidated speculation about an offer from Munich. “We haven’t received any offer for Victor Osimhen from FC Bayern,” the official was quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
