At FC Bayern, the focus on youth work, which has so far been expandable, will be further strengthened. The previous U17 coach should also help.
Halil Altintop will apparently become “transitional coordinator” at FC Bayern. This is reported by “Sport Bild”. According to the report, the 39-year-old should help to better integrate the young talents from his own academy into the men’s area. He should advise the players and be a link between youth and professional coaches.
So far, Altintop has been the U17 coach for Bayern and finished sixth in the B-Junior Bundesliga last year. While he takes on the new task, he should no longer coach a team in order to be more impartial in making decisions.
The former professional from Schalke 04, 1. FC Kaiserslautern and FC Augsburg brings a lot of professional experience to the new task, played almost 600 competitive games himself between 2000 and 2018 and scored over 130 goals as a striker.
