FC Bayern observes a surprising Kane alternative

FC Bayern is looking for a new attacker for the coming season. In this context, the German record champions are apparently also looking at a goalscorer from Aston Villa.

As the “Mirror” reports, FC Bayern is watching Ollie Watkins. The 27-year-old has been in impressive form this season, having already scored 14 goals in the Premier League and registered six assists.

According to the media report, FC Bayern sent a scout to England last Tuesday to observe Watkins in the match between Aston Villa and FC Fulham. The match ended 1-0 for the Birmingham club, Watkins remained without a goal.

The seven-time England international (two goals) is tied with Aston Villa until 2025. How specific FC Bayern’s interest actually is has not been communicated.

According to the “Mirror”, Watkins is considered an alternative to Harry Kane in Munich. The 29-year-old Tottenham Hotspur superstar has been a candidate for the Bundesliga club for months. However, a transfer fee in the three-digit million range would probably be due for the veteran.

Numerous striker rumors at FC Bayern

In addition, Victor Osimhen (SSC Napoli), Rasmus Höjlund (Atalanta Bergamo) and Randal Kolo Muani (Eintracht Frankfurt) are traded on Säbener Straße again and again. Apparently, FC Bayern has not yet made a decision.

The only thing that is certain is that a new goalgetter should definitely be found for the coming season. “We lack the goalscorer who gets things done. That’s what we’ll definitely need in the future,” said club president Herbert Hainer after the Champions League quarter-final defeat by Manchester City.

A clear announcement that should be followed by action on the transfer market in the summer.
