FC Bayern | New defense star? This is the situation with Barca loan player Lenglet

After the surprise transfer of Bryan Zaragoza, the rumor mill at FC Bayern hasn’t really cooled down. On the contrary: Since the construction sites in the defensive area are far from closed, new names are constantly circulating for the upcoming transfer phase in January. One of them is Clement Lenglet.

The name has been increasingly associated with the German record champions in recent days because it fits well with FC Bayern’s requirements for a preferred defensive player. Lenglet is a central defender, but can also move out to the wing.

He has been under contract with FC Barcelona since 2018, but has been loaned out twice since then. Last season he went to Tottenham Hotspur, for whom he played 35 competitive games alongside Harry Kane last season.

He has been playing on loan at Aston Villa since this summer, but has not yet played at all in the Premier League under team manager Unai Emery. The Spanish coach only lets Lenglet play in the Conference League, where he has been in the starting eleven for the Villans five times so far.

Lenglet is probably only on the “extended list” at FC Bayern.

The lack of match practice is also said to be one reason why the 28-year-old should not be at the top of FC Bayern’s list of candidates.

According to the latest “Sky” information, the Frenchman is on an “extended list” of the Munich team, and the name is said to have been discussed internally. However, there is said to be no real interest in Lenglet from FC Bayern. Accordingly, legitimate doubts would be raised as to whether Lenglet would meet the highest demands of the reigning champion.

“Sky” transfer expert Florian Plettenberg does not currently assume that Clement Lenglet’s personality will ever become a real hot topic on Säbener Straße.
