FC Bayern: Mazraoui “fully there” – Frankfurt flashed off because of Stanisic

Pavard set back right

With the signing of Noussair Mazraoui, FC Bayern wanted to reignite the competition at right-back this summer. In the first four games of the season, however, there was no way around Benjamin Pavard, who is in impressive form. According to Julian Nagelsmann, the Moroccan struggled with initial difficulties. Josip Stanisic – currently only third choice – is not allowed to leave the club on loan.

“Everything was new” for Mazraoui, said the Munich coach. The 24-year-old had to get used to a new city, different training and an unfamiliar kitchen, according to Nagelsmann he lost “a bit of weight at the beginning”. But we got that under control.

“In the last week and a half he’s gotten closer,” said the Bayern coach about Mazraoui’s recent performances. But he still has to get used to the pace in the Bundesliga when it comes to defending. Mazraoui came from Ajax Amsterdam on a free transfer in the summer and signed a contract until June 2026. He is now “fully there”, reported Nagelsmann, but qualified: “There is a small problem: Benji is just doing it very, very well.” Mazraoui is a “very good player who will get a lot of games in the future,” said the 35-year-old.

FC Bayern: Eintracht Frankfurt asked unsuccessfully about Josip Stanisic

Josip Stanisic was also allowed to play for 29 minutes in the 7-0 win against VfL Bochum. While Mazraoui moved to the right flank for Pavard, the Croatian was forced to play in the left back – where Alphonso Davies was still injured. After 13 Bundesliga games in the previous season, the competition for the 22-year-old seems too big this year. According to a “Bild” report, there was a recent request from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Accordingly, the SGE tapped the record champions from the possibility of signing Stanisic on loan. After the departure of Filip Kostic, Oliver Glasner recently changed the system to a back four. Kristijan Jakic (25) did well in an unfamiliar position against 1.FC Köln (1-1), but is not the ideal solution as a right-back. Stanisic would have been a cheap alternative, but he is not allowed to leave Bayern.
