According to Matthäus, board boss Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic should not only have taken action in the Sadio Mané case, but also openly presented the punishment for the Senegalese.
After Mané hit his team-mate Leroy Sané in the dressing room after the 3-0 defeat at Manchester City, FC Bayern announced that the new signing would be removed from the squad for the game against Hoffenheim and would have to pay a fine. How high this is, was not revealed.

According to “Bild”, Mané’s penalty is in the mid-six-digit range.

Matthäus also doesn’t like the communication about the consequences for Manuel Neuer, who broke his lower leg while ski touring.
“Has he been punished or not? That also puts a strain on the team, the psyche,” the 62-year-old clarified and added: “These are all little things that come together and that’s why it’s a turbulent time on the Isar.”
