Departure from the table in summer
According to his advisor, Marcel Sabitzer still sees his future at Bayern Munich. Roger Wittmann from the ROGON agency confirmed this on “Sky” after a meeting with Bayern management on Tuesday in Munich. “What we decided is that things are clear and Marcel starts a new attack here,” said Wittmann.
The 28-year-old Sabitzer switched from RB Leipzig to the German record champions at the end of August 2021 for 15 million euros. At the time, the midfielder was considered the dream player of coach Julian Nagelsmann, under whom Sabitzer had previously been a regular player and captain in Leipzig. In Munich, Sabitzer was unable to meet the expectations placed on him in his first season. In 25 Bundesliga games he was in the starting line-up eight times, scoring one goal and one assist.

“He’s not happy with the whole situation. He was a leader in Leipzig, he came here without any preparation and then had to deal with corona and injuries,” explained Wittmann. Sabitzer’s contract in Munich is valid until 2025. With Ryan Gravenberch (19) and Konrad Laimer (24), two other candidates for central midfield have recently been linked to Bayern.
