FC Bayern makes the commitment of ex-Ajax professional Daley Blind perfect

Free transfer after Ajax exit

FC Bayern made the commitment of Daley Blind (32) perfect. Munich announced on Thursday evening that the Dutchman had signed a contract until the end of the season. Blind is moving on a free transfer after he canceled his working paper at Ajax Amsterdam, which was originally valid until the summer, shortly before Christmas and was without a club at the turn of the year.

“We are very pleased that Daley is joining our team. Daley is a flexible defender who can play on the left as well as inside. He has extensive international experience and leadership qualities. I’m sure he will help us,” said sports director Hasan Salihamidzic about the commitment.

Blind said: “I can’t wait to play here. We are now facing the most important part of the season, which is about the titles – and a club like FC Bayern can win any trophy. The hunger for titles here at the club was crucial for my decision. I hope I can use my experience to help the team and I’ll give my all for Bayern Munich.” For Blind, the move to Munich is the first free transfer in his career – previously he had spent 34 million euros. The national player had his highest market value in 2019 with 25 million euros, he is currently valued at 6 million euros.

Blind replaces the injured Lucas Hernández (26) in coach Julian Nagelsmann’s squad, who suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in November and has been out of action for several months. At that time, Salihamidzic ruled out reinforcements for the defense: “We won’t do anything in winter.”
