Basketball Cup winners Bayern Munich suffered their seventh defeat of the season at Olympiacos Piraeus on matchday 13 of the EuroLeague.
After three wins in a row, Pablo Laso’s team lost to last year’s finalists 69:77 (29:41). In the table, the Munich team remains within reach of the playoffs with a record of 6:7.
Without world champion Andreas Obst (27), who had a foot injury, and ex-NBA professional Serge Ibaka (34), the Munich team only found their way into the game in the second quarter.
Too late to make up for the 8:24 deficit from the first period. The best scorer on the guests’ side was Carsen Edwards with eleven points.
Already on Sunday (from 5:00 p.m. / Dyn) Bayern will be fighting against Champions League winners Telekom Baskets Bonn in the quarter-finals for a place in the top four weekend.
