The FC Bayern Munich basketball team will go into the playoffs from bottom in the table and will face title favorites FC Barcelona in the quarter-finals.
Due to the 76:81 (39:44) defeat at Anadolu Efes Istanbul from Turkey, the Bundesliga club cannot improve with a match day before the end of the main round with a record of 13:14 wins. Finally, coach Andrea Trinchieri’s team will visit Real Madrid on Friday (8:45 p.m.).
In the second Euroleague game, the Munich team was chasing a deficit within 48 hours. At times the hosts led by twelve points (23:35/24th minute) because Anadolu professional Shane Larkin could hardly be stopped. Bayern came within five points before the break.
In the third quarter, the guests kept the game open for a long time. However, the Trinchieri team failed to turn the game around. Again and again Larkin or the Frenchman Adrien Moerman came up with simple points.
