Bayern striker wants to leave immediately
Apparently, a decision has been made when it comes to Robert Lewandowski. As the “Picture” reported, the 33-year-old striker will leave FC Bayern by the end of his contract in 2023 at the latest. Last week, the Pole informed the record champions that he did not want to extend his contract again. He even wanted to leave immediately. Also in order not to have to let Lewandowski go free of charge, an immediate sale is again an issue this summer.
“As I said before, we will have talks,” said sports director Hasan Salihamidzic when asked by the newspaper on the subject. According to reports, Lewandowski is annoyed that those talks did not take place for a long time. And angry that his employer is said to have vehemently advertised for BVB striker Erling Haaland (21), who will now use his exit clause for a transfer to Manchester City.

FC Barcelona is under discussion as a buyer, who might have the necessary financial resources with the help of the planned sale of midfielder Frenkie de Jong (25, Man United is being traded). Internally, it is said that Bayern assume that Lewandowski can leave early for 35 to 40 million euros. According to the report, contrary to what was recently communicated publicly, Bayern is now ready to negotiate because the sporting management noticed the annoyed attitude of the striker. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Lewandowski is aware that interested Barcelona want to offer him a three-year deal.
FC Bayern: Lewandowski second best Bundesliga scorer in history
Should Lewandowski leave prematurely, this would be tantamount to a farewell after a total of twelve years in the Bundesliga at Borussia Dortmund and in Munich. With 311 goals in 382 appearances, the veteran who is willing to change is in second place behind Gerd Müller (365) in the ranking of the best goal scorers since the league was founded in 1963.
