FC Bayern is loaning storm talent Gibson Adu to SpVgg Unterhaching for the second half of this season. As the German record champions announced on Monday afternoon, the 17-year-old attacker will be training with the regional league team from this week. Adu will officially join his former club on January 1, 2026.
Adu was originally supposed to spend this season at SCR Altach in the Austrian Bundesliga, but the loan was canceled by UEFA a few days after the move at the beginning of September. Altach had not received permission to play for Adu. It was not issued because the club is not allowed to register underage players from abroad if certain protection mechanisms cannot be proven.
Adu has played 32 minutes in the Bavarian Regional League so far this season. In the summer of 2024 he moved from Unterhaching to FCB, where his contract is valid until 2027. The youngster is still waiting for his first professional appearance.
