Jamal Musiala achieved a special mark in FC Bayern Munich’s top Bundesliga game at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. With his appearance in Sinsheim on Saturday at the age of 19 years and 14 days, he is the youngest Bayern player in history with 50 Bundesliga games. In a league comparison, only six players have surpassed this performance since 1963. Bayern’s record holder since April 14, 2012 is David Alaba at the age of 19 years, nine months and 21 days.

Coach Julian Nagelsmann was very positive about the national player’s development on the occasion of the anniversary. “His importance for Bayern Munich is huge. We’re glad he’s with us,” said the coach. The offensive player is currently proving his versatility, which has already brought him appearances on both flanks this season, and his talent as a substitute for the injured Leon Goretzka (27) in defensive midfield alongside Joshua Kimmich (27).

But Musiala has recently “gained a lot” when it came to “reliability”, the coach praised. “The fact that he has great attacking qualities, is very sure of the ball and can turn and wriggle out of various pressure situations is exceptionally good. His development is good,” said Nagelsmann. Musiala is now consistently delivering good performances.
Musiala has scored nine goals in 49 Bundesliga games to date. National coach Hansi Flick is likely to include Musiala in the first international squad of the World Cup year next week.
