Nagelsmann wants ex-protégé
FC Bayern apparently wants to get serious about recruiting Konrad Laimer (24) from RB Leipzig. As transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports, the German record champion plans to make a first offer for the Austrian to the “Red Bulls”. The amount of the offer should be between 18 and 20 million euros.

With a change of this magnitude, the midfielder, whose contract in Saxony runs until 2023, could rank in the top 20 of Munich’s most expensive purchases, or at least come close. FC Bayern paid similar amounts for the transfers of Roy Makaay in 2003 (arrived from Deportivo La Coruna for EUR 19.75m) and Niklas Süle in 2017, who was brought from Hoffenheim for EUR 20m. According to Romano, coach Julian Nagelsmann is pushing for his ex-protégé Laimer to come to Munich. The national player played 46 games under the coach in days together at RB Leipzig, in which he contributed four goals and seven assists.

Given the competition on the transfer market, it is not certain whether Nagelsmann will get his wish fulfilled. The reporting journalist says that it will not be easy for the German record champions to get Laimer. In addition to Munich, Borussia Dortmund is also associated with the right foot in the TM rumor mill. In addition, several clubs from the Premier League are said to be interested in the native of Salzburg.

RB Leipzig’s Laimer is taking his time with contract talks
Meanwhile, he does not see the right time for contract talks. “There’s no point in having talks about it at this crucial stage of the season. Otherwise there would only be unrest and I would have to think about things that are not the most important thing at the moment,” Laimer said recently in an interview with “Sport Bild”. So his next step could “go in all directions”.
Laimer has been in Leipzig since 2017, where he moved from his hometown of RB Salzburg for 7 million euros. To date, he has made 158 appearances for the Saxons (eleven goals/18 assists) and has since reached his career high of €30 million. Its market value is currently estimated at EUR 26 million.
