FC Bayern is apparently planning talks with Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller

Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller are among the mainstays at Bayern Munich. But the contracts of both top performers end in the summer of 2023. The people of Munich would probably like to bind the duo to the club in the long term. Concrete discussions should take place soon.

Even at an advanced age, Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller are an integral part of the starting eleven at FC Bayern. It is an open secret that the record champions want to extend the working papers of the two internationals.

According to journalist Nicolò Schira, FC Bayern will open negotiations in the coming weeks. However, the reporter did not give any further details.

Neuer and Müller are currently on contracts until 2023. While the injured goalkeeper has been quiet in recent months, Müller recently caused a stir with an interview.

Müller leaves the future at Bayern open

“I’m very calm and at the same time self-confident. Nobody has approached me from the club. So you have to see what the future holds,” Müller told “Sport Bild” in early February. The 32-year-old revealed that he wanted to “play football at the top level until 2025”.

While the Bayern bosses then presented themselves calmly, coach Julian Nagelsmann campaigned for the attacking midfielder to remain.

“Thomas lives a lot from the recognition he gets over the course of the game and from the key role (in the team). From the coach’s point of view, that sends every signal that needs to be sent,” said the 34-year-old. According to the coach, there isn’t “the mega stress of looking for a conversation today or tomorrow”.

What is certain is that FC Bayern will do everything possible to retain its regular staff. Negotiations are likely to pick up speed in the coming weeks.
