FC Bayern hot for BVB star?

The Bundesliga season 2022/2023 has hardly ended when the transfer rumor carousel spins faster and faster. On Monday, the new message popped up that the former BVB star Raphael Guerreiro is being seriously discussed as a newcomer to FC Bayern.

According to a “Sky” report, there were talks between Munich and the player side weeks ago. The Bavarians are said to have already known at the time that Guerreiro would not extend his contract with Borussia Dortmund, which expired at the end of June.

Since the 29-year-old would be available on a free transfer, he has played his way up the wish list at FC Bayern. According to the broadcaster, the contact between the old and new German champions and the European champion of 2016 should also have gone well. However, there is no agreement yet.

Now it remains to be seen whether the new main managers at FC Bayern will continue to strive to bring Raphael Guerreiro from BVB to Munich. The first contact was made via the recently dismissed sports director Hasan Salihamidzic.

Guerreiro played 162 Bundesliga games for BVB

Guerreiro played for the black and yellow for a total of seven seasons and was one of the longest-serving players in the squad. After seven years at BVB, the Portuguese is now looking for a new challenge and has already confirmed his departure from Dortmund himself.

In addition to FC Bayern, other top European clubs have also been traded with alleged interest in Guerreiro, including Atlético Madrid and Inter Milan.

The left-footed player played a total of 162 Bundesliga games for Borussia Dortmund and scored a strong 30 goals. He mostly played as a left-back, but was increasingly placed in left midfield by head coach Edin Terzic in the recently ended season.
