The FC Bayern basketball team confirmed their upward trend in the EuroLeague and clinched their fourth win in six games.
Coach Andrea Trinchieri’s team beat the Israeli record champions Maccabi Tel Aviv 98:89 (50:44) on Friday evening. “It was a team effort when you look at the scoring,” said former NBA professional Elias Harris at MagentaSport: “We did a good job.”
The Munich team, who started the premier class season with five consecutive defeats, are still stuck in the bottom third of the table with four wins from eleven games. The best thrower for the hosts, who were unlucky to lose at AS Monaco last week (79:80), was US guard Cassius Winston (23).
Bayern pull away slightly before the break and were able to keep their lead stable after the break. Maccabi remains without a win away from home this EuroLeague season.
On Sunday (6:00 p.m./MagentaSport), Munich will play medi Bayreuth at home in the quarter-finals of the BBL Cup.
