“Not finished yet”
FC Bayern and Austria Lustenau have extended the loan of midfield talent Torben Rhein (20) for another season. Born in Berlin, he was not entirely satisfied with his first year with the Austrian Bundesliga club. He was only in the starting line-up ten times in the championship, and Rhein was also held back for several weeks by an adductor injury.
“Even if last season wasn’t always perfect for him personally, he showed from the start what extraordinary footballing talent he has and how he can help the team,” said Lustenau’s sports coordinator Alexander Schneider of Rhein’s time in western Vorarlberg.
To the Transfermarkt interview with Torben Rhein from December 2022
Rhein emphasized that he felt comfortable in the club. “That’s why I came to the decision that another year at Austria made the most sense for me,” said the young professional. “I wanted to stay because I feel like I’m not done here and I can definitely play even better than last year. I really want to show that.”
The ink is dry: Torben #Rhine continues to wear the Austria jersey.
The midfielder was loaned out again by FC Bayern Munich and will play in green and white until the summer of 2024.
