FC Bayern defense option before island change

FC Bayern has to change its defensive structure this summer, one or two central defenders could have found their way to Munich at the end of the transfer phase. One option for the record champions, however, apparently decides to move to England.

Central defender Micky van de Ven from VfL Wolfsburg will probably not join FC Bayern, his time in the Bundesliga could be over after two years. According to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano, it is currently a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Premier League representative is also desperately looking for reinforcements in the defensive headquarters. The Spurs have now started talks with VfL Wolfsburg, it is said. The Dutchman is one of the transfer targets this summer, so Tottenham is likely to be vying for the 22-year-old’s services.

According to Romano, the eleven-time U21 international, who was eliminated in the group stage with the Oranje selection at the European Championships in Georgia and Romania, is said to have signaled in talks with Spurs that he could imagine a move to London.

Bayern flirting leaves the future in Wolfsburg open

Van de Ven joined VfL Wolfsburg in 2021 from his youth club FC Volendam, where he has a contract until 2027. The wolves should therefore hardly feel any pressure to sell the left foot again this summer. The transfer fee was recently estimated in the English media at 30 million euros. However, the interest of the competition increased after a convincing season.

The youngster, who can now look back on 38 Bundesliga games, had described his future with Lower Saxony as open. “Of course I feel very comfortable in Wolfsburg. So I don’t mind playing another year in Wolfsburg. But if I have the chance to go, I would like to do it,” said van de Ven recently.

The Munich “tz” then brought the 1.93 meter defender into play at Bayern. According to “Bild”, the 22-year-old is on the Munich transfer slip. Due to the lack of international experience, the record champions probably prefer other options.
