FC Bayern confirms next personal hammer

After the separation from Oliver Kahn, ex-CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is about to return to Bayern.

As club president Herbert Hainer confirmed at a press conference on Sunday, the long-standing club boss should move up to the supervisory board of the German record champions and help with squad planning.

Several media had previously reported on the spectacular comeback.

Rummenigge had handed over his office to Kahn in the summer of 2021, since then he has not held an official position at FC Bayern and has retired.

In the background, however, he was active in an advisory capacity – most recently due to the sporting crisis and the ongoing unrest in the club, according to reports, together with Honorary President Uli Hoeneß, who, as a member of the Supervisory Board, should continue to pull the strings anyway.

It is fitting that Kahn’s successor, the previous CFO Jan-Christian Dreesen, is considered a close confidante of Rummenigge and also of Hoeneß.

Personal tremors at FC Bayern cause a lot of unrest

The dismissal of Kahn and also the exit of sports director Hasan Salihamidzic, whose successor has not yet been clarified, had initially leaked out in the media around the Bundesliga final at 1. FC Köln and had completely outshined FC Bayern’s last-minute title.

Only an hour after the final whistle of the game, the Munich team then officially confirmed the explosive staff quake – and thus caused a lot of criticism.

“Hasan Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn didn’t deserve that. You can think what you want about the work of the two, but they are two deserved players and also officials. To get through that a minute or five minutes later after winning the championship , that’s unworthy,” rumbled “Sky” expert Dietmar Hamann. FC Bayern’s approach “cannot be outdone in terms of disrespect”.
