It is said that the record champions have had the central defender on the list for two years and have been inquiring about him. Coach Thomas Tuchel is now also enthusiastic about the 24-year-old Araújo, who is pleased about the interest from Bayern. However, the chances of success for a transfer are reportedly manageable because Barcelona is working on an extension beyond 2026 – which has also been reported to the Munich bosses.
Araújo, who can also defend at the right back, moved from Boston River in his native Uruguay to Barcelona in 2018 for 4.7 million euros. Since then, the 16-time national player has made 124 competitive appearances, eight goals and three assists. The right-footer increased his market value to 70 million euros.
