Jan-Christian Dreesen, club boss at FC Bayern, expects national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to make a comeback before the Bundesliga winter break.
“I think so,” said Dreesen before the start of the Bundesliga on “DAZN” to the relevant question.
The 37-year-old Neuer suffered a broken leg after the soccer World Cup in December last year and completed an individual training session with goalkeeper-specific exercises on the lawn on Säbener Straße in the morning.
About two weeks ago, Neuer successfully had a planned metal removal on his right fibula.
Dreesen did not want to officially confirm the signing of Israeli Daniel Peretz and said: “I think the more important thing is that we are happy that Manuel Neuer is on a much faster path than we might have thought a few weeks ago. That’s the good thing about it . We’ve reconsidered a bit by wanting to line up with a younger player for the longer term, but we’re definitely counting on Manuel. I’m sure he’ll be back in team training sooner than we thought.” The Bundesliga goes into the winter break on December 21st.
Dreesen said meaningfully about the personality of Peretz (23): “We don’t discuss names if they’re not fixed. So in that respect: Daniel Peretz is a good boy, a class goalkeeper. But as I said: I don’t want to comment on names.”
