FC Bayern: bosses talk to Thomas Müller – Manuel Neuer back in training

After transfer rumors

At FC Bayern Munich, CEO Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic shouldPicture“ had a conversation with Thomas Müller. The duo made it clear to the 33-year-old offensive star that the record champions would continue to rely on him.

Speculations about the future of the national player had recently caused discussions. Müller himself reacted with amusement to the reports about his premature departure from Bayern. “If you could read the newspaper King D’avie…” the 33-year-old wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of him laughing and crouching next to King D’avie, one of his horses. To do this, he used hashtags like “#now it’s slowly getting wild”.

Müller lost his place in the starting XI and was often only substituted on by Thomas Tuchel. However, the coach had always praised him in the highest tones when asked. Even Tuchel’s predecessor Julian Nagelsmann had done without Müller in the starting XI several times this season. The attacker’s contract in Munich runs until 2024.

Captain Neuer confirms comeback for FC Bayern on the training ground

Meanwhile, national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer continues to work on his comeback. “Guess who’s back on the (training) pitch!” wrote the Bayern captain on Instagram late Thursday evening. For the first time since breaking his leg, the 37-year-old has been doing individual, goalkeeper-specific exercises on Säbener Straße this week. “I am happy. We don’t set a schedule. I’m trying to do everything I can to get the maximum out of it so that I can progress and progress as quickly as possible,” said Neuer after a session with goalkeeper coach Michaelrechner.

Bayern reacted to Neuer’s injury in winter and signed Swiss national goalkeeper Yann Sommer (34) from Borussia Mönchengladbach as a replacement. When Neuer suffered the injury, Bayern were nine points ahead of Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. After Bayern even had to give up the lead in the table, the team is one point ahead of BVB three games before the end of the season.

Neuer broke his leg in a skiing accident while on vacation after the World Cup in December. Since then, the 2014 world champion has been missing from Munich. Neuer wants to be back in Munich’s goal next season. The home EM 2024 is still a goal for the DFB captain.
