The charm offensive by Barcelona head coach Xavi had no effect: According to a media report, Spain’s champions have now received an official rejection from FC Bayern when courting Joshua Kimmich. Meanwhile, another Munich midfield star is out of the question for Barca.
The transfer speculation about a change from Joshua Kimmich from FC Bayern to FC Barcelona should be over for the time being. According to “Mundo Deportivo”, the Catalans had asked the German record champions about a transfer of the German international in the past few days. However, the answer was unequivocal: Kimmich should not be handed over.
The report goes on to say that Barca received that information from a third party. The Spaniards would therefore not make any further efforts and contact the player themselves. Barcelona have been informed that FC Bayern is planning to work with the 28-year-old. Kimmich is predetermined as the future team captain, his contract is valid until 2025 anyway.
