In recent days there has been increasing speculation that FC Bayern is said to have put out feelers to Takehiro Tomiyasu from Arsenal FC. His current team manager Mikel Arteta has now spoken out about Munich’s supposed dream player.
Not least due to the departures of Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Hernandez and Josip Stanisic, FC Bayern is currently in a personnel imbalance when it comes to its defensive positions. At least one defender should be signed in the winter transfer phase next January. Ideally, this should be able to be used both in the right-back position and in central defense.
Takehiro Tomiyasu has exactly these qualities, but he mostly only plays as a substitute at Arsenal FC. Although he does not have a regular place with the Gunners, team manager Mikel Arteta is still planning to work with the Japanese international, as he explained on Friday.
“I really want him to stay. I really value the player. He is loved and respected by everyone at the club. He is at the level we need to strengthen the team,” said the London coach. Arteta was therefore also confident about the rumored interest from the German record champions from Munich: “He will stay with us,” said the Spaniard on Friday before the Premier League duel with FC Brentford on Saturday evening.
Arsenal FC are currently third in the table in England
Takehiro Tomiyasu is playing his third season on the island and moved to the Londoners from the Italian first division club FC Bologna in the summer of 2021. He has made 52 appearances in the Premier League so far, scoring one goal.
With the Gunners, Tomiyasu is currently in third place in the English championship.
