This season, the 22-year-old has already scored eight goals in the Bundesliga and five goals. Strong values, especially for a defender, which have not gone unnoticed by the bosses of FC Bayern. Accordingly, the Munich have already approached the 1.71 meter tall right-back.
As transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports, there were direct discussions with Jeffrey Lemmert, Frimpong’s advisor. The German soccer record champion joins a prominent list of interested parties. Manchester United’s advertising was already reported last year. FC Barcelona is also said to have put out feelers to the Leverkusen player, whose contract is dated until 2025.
FC Bayern must clarify Cancelo’s future
In the case of FC Bayern, however, it must first be clarified how Cancelo will continue, according to Romano. The Portuguese, who signed on in Munich in the winter, could theoretically be committed for the fixed sum of 70 million euros. According to reports, that will not happen.
However, it is assumed in Munich that the defender would also be cheaper or that there might be a chance of a longer loan.
Either way: As long as the Cancelo future has not yet been clarified, there should probably be no specific offer for Frimpong.
After getting in touch with Frimpong’s agent for the first time, FC Bayern has at least got a foot in the door at Leverkusen, whose market value is estimated at around 35 million euros. “Sport Bild” recently said that Bayer could call 50 million euros for the 22-year-old.
