FC Bayern announce prominent new signing

Basketball cup winner FC Bayern Munich has signed former NBA professional Leandro Bolmaro as the first new signing. The Argentina international arrives from Spanish first division club Lenovo Tenerife and has been given a two-year contract.

Before joining the Champions League semi-finalists, the 22-year-old guard played 49 NBA games for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Utah Jazz.

“Bayern is one of the biggest clubs out there and Pablo Laso is now the coach there so it was an easy choice for me,” said Bolmaro, who played for FC Barcelona from 2018-2021. “I was in contact with Pablo back in the spring, and of course we knew each other from many duels at the ACB.” Laso managed Real Madrid extremely successfully for eleven years.

“Lea is a steal. He has EuroLeague and NBA experience and is a young talent who can defend any position,” said Spaniard Laso. At the same time, Bolmaro “can set the pace as a pure point guard on offense. He’s tall and athletic and his great mentality makes him one of Argentina’s brightest hopes for the future.”
