FC Bayern agree with Inter Milan on Pavard fee – Klostermann as a replacement?

With all due respect, what the hell does Pavard want at Inter?

I ask myself the same thing. Playing more games and sitting even more securely in the saddle is hardly possible. Title chances are significantly lower at Inter than in Munich (yeah, CL final ’23, I know…) and I don’t see this move as a real career leap forward either. More salary? If he had received Bayern with a contract extension.

Is it perhaps the accursed appreciation or the lack of it again? Milan is a wonderful city, but Munich is also one of the prettier areas in Germany. In culinary terms, of course, Italy wins miles overall, also in terms of the other soft factors.

Maybe he just really wants a new challenge? Pavard has been in Germany for 7 years now and has won everything you can get here. Is it perhaps more appealing to him to try to win 1-2 titles with Inter than to win the 5th or 6th German championship of his career with Bayern? And Bayern can’t guarantee you a CL title (which he already has). In addition, not everyone wants to live in the same city for 7-8 years or longer.

Nobody can guarantee a CL title. But if, according to your assumption, he is too full and has already achieved everything, then I would have expected a move to the PL with more competition and stronger teams OR already in early football retirement to Saudi Arabia to just skim off and recover.

A move to Inter is certainly not wrong and there are many arguments in favor of Milan and Italy in general. But I very much doubt whether it is the best possible next step for his career. Rather, he seems to be looking for the emergency exit from Munich at the moment – no matter what the price or losses.

The assumption about having too much only referred to the Bundesliga and not to football in general. With early retirement in Saudi Arabia, he would probably end his career in the national team and there are still a few titles up for grabs with this French team.
Regarding PL you are of course right, but there are not really many clubs that come into question. City is actually already too well occupied defensively and simply has no need for Pavard.
With the other clubs in England (just like with Inter) you don’t have a title guarantee either. I would even go so far as to say that it is easier to win Serie A with Inter than to overthrow Man City in England, simply because since Juve broke in, I have not seen any club in Italy that is in the very top echelon of Europe playing football. All the clubs that are there have to let top performers move to financially strong clubs again and again.
Everything that comes behind City is currently only conditionally more attractive than Inter. Chelsea without international business and with the mega upheaval anyway. Arsenal and Newcastle could do well but both need to confirm their strong seasons before City can see serious competition here. ManU is just ManU. Financial means would be there, but somehow you have been completely on the spot for 10-12 years. Liverpool only has EL to offer and Tottenham is chronically untitled anyway.
