Munich (AP) – FC Bayern Munich can play in front of full ranks in the home game against FC Augsburg on April 9 for the first time in months. As the Bundesliga club announced, the Munich team hopes for up to 75,000 spectators in the Bavarian duel.
The Allianz Arena was last sold out on November 6, 2021 in the game against SC Freiburg. “The fans are the essence of football and make the games in our stadium unique, especially now in the decisive phase of the season,” said deputy chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen, according to the club’s statement.
Based on the Bavarian cabinet decision on Tuesday, the access and distance rules for football games in Bavaria will no longer apply from this Sunday. Wearing an FFP2 mask is also no longer mandatory in the stadiums.
