FC Basel 1893 must accept the next departure of a regular player. Center striker Kevin Carlos joins the French first division club and European League participant OGC Nice. There the 24-year-old signed a contract until summer 2030.

Carlos had only joined Basel from Yverdon Sport FC last summer for 3.4 million euros and is now moving on for almost twice the sum. 6 million euros are now due for the transfer, further bonus payments at an unnecessary amount are possible. Last season, the Spaniard had contributed 14 goals and two templates in 36 games on their way to the championship. According to the association, the change took place “at the express request” of the player.

At Nice, Carlos steps in the footsteps of Evann Guessand, who moved to Aston Villa in the Premier League for 30 million euros. In the squad of the Ligue-1 club, only two other center forwards are available with Terem Moffi and Eigenwächs Bernard Nguene.
